At last, some poo (urgghy picture!!)

Post by Richard »

In 16 years I've seen hedgehogs twice only in my garden, the last time about six years ago.

Last Autumn I was busy and made three hedgehog houses and stacked loads of branches I'd lopped down in a huge stack at the back.

I walked out the door this morning and found this in front of me !!

Yes, it's a bit urrgh., but he or she had obviously been at some pips somewhere.
Knopwing they poo every 20 - 30 feet I searched and found some more in the hedgerow.

So I'm hoping the Lane is once more a Hedgehog Highway :-D :-D

Very pretty colours for poo, Richard. LOL

We have no poo and no hedgehogs and there are loads of places where they can go, so a bit disappointed.

Funnily enough when we lived in the middle of town on a housing estate we always saw them.

Yes. Hardly see them here, but at MIL's on the outskirts of Beverley saw a lot, in the back garden or wandering along the pavement*. Maybe there are more places to hide here. Or I walked home at night when I stayed there, use the car here.

*only one at a time, not like a gang of teenagers. But some were bigger than others.

That's great. They can get up a speed can't they.

I heard mine last night but couldn't get a sighting in the hedgerow.

I made a better platform around one side of my pond yesterday just in case they decide to have a dip, which they do!!

Let's hope all this is a sign of some population improvement.
