Quince in flower

Post by albertajune »

I wasn't sure where to put this, either fruit bushes or general gardening. I have put it here as it is such a beautiful flowering bush, regardless of the fruit. I do use quince although this bush is so young that most of this blossom will fall.
For anyone who isn't familiar with the blossom, below is a pic taken this morning.

I've got one that colour too. And a couple that are more orange, one each side of the front door.

The quince now has tiny fruits on it and a second flourish of flowers. What is going on!! Some fruits are already falling as it was loaded but hopefully I will have enough left to make some delicious quince jelly later in the year. If only a couple of jars )t'

I don't like the jelly, but love the smell of the fruit. So put them in a bowl in the hall as a still life / pot-pourri.
