Why Did I Think I Could Start That Pruning Job Today???

Post by Totally Scrambled »

One of my jobs on the To Do List is pollarding an Oak up the garden so I thought I'd start today.
I thought I'd begin by stripping out the little branches off the main branches starting from what I could reach from ground level and it was going well.
Then I got the step ladder out to get a bit higher which was made a bit trickier by the wind blowing the branches about.
Then I got the big ladder out and rested the top against the first branch I was planning on trimming and climbed to the top. What a mistakea to makea, the wind was really strong and I was waving around like mad, so I bottled it and gave it up as a bad idea for today.

Well you've started. The ladder is in place. And you can be getting on with the clearing up of the prunings.

Jobs can be divided into parts
1. Write it on to-do list
2. get tools out
3. start the easy bit
4. do the next bit
5. finish

THere you are, job four-fifths done.

You did the right thing by giving the job away. I can't believe how strong and cold the wind is, especially in June. Hopefully this "breeze" as the weather girl described it, will let you get back to the job very soon )t'
