7lbs off one bush. Huge gooseberries as you can see from my 1in tiles. Luckily my other bush that fruits later is thorn less. Thank goodness as I didn't wear gloves

We are having a bumper year over here too. I have been asked by friends to take as many as I want, as well as blackcurrants, redcurrants and whitecurrants. Bring it on!

They look great )like(

I have some I haven't picked yet. They seem to go a slight shade of blush/pink as they ripen.

What are you going to make with them? Crumble, pie, tart or something else? I made gooseberry cup cakes last year. They were OK but not my favorite.

I'm going to make some jam and with what's left, a gooseberry and apple crumble this weekend when I have visitors. The other bush that I have produces pink ones when ripe. In the past I made pink champagne with them which was so lovely. Sadly I no longer have the recipe but can look up one on the web )t'

What a yield, June. Gooseberry jam, and apple and gooseberry crumble, lovely. Not tasted any for years and years. We dug our gooseberry bush up some years ago, it didn't do anything, so it went the same way as the blackcurrant.
