Epidural this afternoon
Epidural this afternoonI'm having a spinal injection in the form of an epidural this afternoon to try and help my back pain. It isn't always successful so fingers are tightly crossed.
I'm not looking forward to the procedure but anything is worth a try. It can take up to 10 days to work and my back may be a bit more painful immediately after. The boredom factor of hospitals is what I dread, so am taking new magazines and a Sudoku book to keep me alert. I will of course let you know how I get on and please all keep your fingers crossed for me that it is a success. I am now a widow and live with my memories.

Re: Epidural this afternoonNo ladies, not even a remote memory of giving birth. (I wish){rofwl}
It was done in the afternoon and I was sedated before the epidural. Can't tell yet if it will have effect as it can take up to 10 days before a difference is seen. For some it doesn't work at all but I felt that I had to give it a try. Even if it does work it might only last for a couple of months but it can then be done again. As surgery is not even an option I can at least go the pain relief way. I should be resting today but have been out recently to pick blackberries which are in the field opposite my back door. I was told to do chores that are within my pain threshold, so blackberry picking came into that. One good thing was, by this morning the epidural effect hadn't quite worn off and I woke up actually laying on my back, which I can't normally do. Our cat Mistie took advantage of this and jumped onto the bed, onto my chest and fell asleep. Thanks for all the crossed fingers, they may yet do the trick. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Epidural this afternoonGlad to hear it's doing the trick. Long may it continue - for your sake and the cat's!
I thought you were preggers too. I have had back and neck problems for ages and injections and nothing really worked, until.....I got this job and we have a visiting remedial masseuse, who sits you on a funny chair and finds all your squealy bits with her thumbs. She's made me yelp a few times but my pain levels and range of movement have improved enormously in just a few visits. I'm hoping the injection works for you, but if it doesn't then maybe the same thing might help you. Good luck! |
