Yesterdays makes

Post by albertajune »

Felt bored yesterday, so baked crusty white loaf, fruit loaf for breakfast toast and damson jam. The fruit loaf was lovely served with just butter.

Nom!
Nicely done :)

Is it egg or a sugar glaze on the fruit loaf? Looks totally edible, either way.

I took it from the oven, brushed over a little honey and popped it back for a couple of minutes. Doing that, the loaf isn't sticky.
As a matter of interest, it is the same mix as the ordinary loaf. I flattened it out, spread over a little butter, honey and dried fruit, then shaped into the loaf before leaving it to rise before baking.

That looks really appetizing June. There is just something about home baking you never get with shop bought food. Hope you enjoyed it.

Is the damson jam homemade? I haven't tasted any for years and years, not seen it in shops either.

Spreckly, my hubby came home with a jar of damsom plum jam last week. He got it from Sainsbogs, the Bonne Maman range. )t'
