Such a sad dayRe: Such a sad dayMedication is a problem now as the vets won't give repeat Bute without seeing the horse again. Which I can see as some unscrupulous person might give it to another horse and it get into human food. But having the vet out regularly adds to the cost of keeping a retired horse (ours had foot problems so couldn't be kept out all day, at the cost of feed & bedding for both horses)

Re: Such a sad dayWell I love the picture of Izzy and the horse both laughing. I'm very sorry that it has come to this but sometimes you have to make the decision.
One day she will be able to look at the photos and laugh; I'm sure at the moment she only feels like crying. Love to all. Bea; 19 hens (most of whom I intended to get); 6 bantams (which I never intended to have); old Benji dog and young Toby dog (who I definitely wanted). Three years into country living and loving it.
Re: Such a sad dayLovely photos that in time will go alongside beautiful memories. It must be so hard for you all, sending love & hugs

Re: Such a sad dayWhat a beautiful horse, very similar to the chestnut I rode, but minus the large blaze. Do hope that Izzy is coping.
Re: Such a sad dayLovely photos of Izzie and the beautiful boy. So sad that he had to go but I'm sure he will be forever remembered for the joy that he gave her.
