Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!
Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!I went out yesterday and thought what an overcast day for October and only 11 degrees.
Then I remembered Scotland at the end of June.. Loch Maree 23rd. June = 9 degrees... Puffin Bay near Bettyhill 25th. June = 7 degrees... Maybe I should stop moaning !! Luckily I took the right clothes with me, I recalled starting my cycle ride from John O'Groats on 22nd. June 2011 and it was 10 degrees ! It was good weather for the Puffins though New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome

Sunny Clucker enjoyed Folk music and song in mid-Cheshire Re: Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!LOL! I'm watching people down south of England talking about starting their gardens... it's been below zero for a solid week up here now and last few mornings it was minus 5... o god I need spring!
Re: Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!Oh dear Mardatha !!
I'm unsure of the timings but I think North England is usually about two / three weeks behind us in Kent and along the southern bit. Scotland I guess would be four / five weeks? Midsummer's Day at Bettyhill last year was surely an exception to the rule though !! I'm going in July this year in my little Campervan - may get away with just one jumper Richard New Member? Re: Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!I'm even 3 weeks behind Edinburgh lol. Last 2 years our spring came in June I think, and some days in winter were warmer than summer. If you let me know what road you're coming up I'll be there with some sealskins for you and a wolf fur parka..
Re: Midsummer Bird Watching in Scotland !!!!Ah, that would be good
I think I'm going Kent > Farne Islands > Cairngorms > Skye > Loch Maree, then back > Loch Lomond > following a bit more of my cycle route > Carlisle > Shap > Shropshire > Kent. A tour is a tour Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
