Hoggi's well out and about !

Post by Richard »

I'm pretty sure this is the boy or girl who spent winter in my Hog House.

I went out to set up my night camera, put a bowl of food down and there Hoggy was, no more than 3 feet away !!

I'm happy :-D

Hi, I had hedgehogs ,before I had chickens . Now no entrance to the garden as the flock would escape with it.
Do miss this night life.

Bob all they need is a 4" gap, when we had a new solid fence built I scooped it out of the ground underneath the fence where I thought they used to come through. I suppose your rabbits might get through though.

I suspect a 4" gap might be enough for hens too.
The flock net I used had a 2" mesh but 1 broken strand was enough.

Where I house sit they've just had a fence put in, about 150 feet worth.

They've inserted 4" soil pipe under the concrete fence base and made a 'cutting' accordingly - this solely for the purpose of the Hedgehogs getting through. They had two last year.
The length of the pipe is about 15".

Hope they aren't back up here yet as we've got lying snow, and more forecast today and tomorrow. The poor wee birds must be wondering what happened to Spring.
