Giving out constant territory song, this male Robin has sat on the same twig on a bush above the Veggie Patch for the last week. He, the wife and kids nest about two feet below !

Nowhere near such a professional looking photo, but here is my woodpecker! Actually have been thrilled to see him every day, he/she is so imposing!

Richard that blackbirds beakfull looks more edible than structural, to me.

A bit like the remains of undigested cockchafers that Pat has deposited on my carpet a couple of times.
Didn't know cats ate cockchafers but he obviously does.
Do you think he was punishing me for being out all day?

Helen - that's a lovely photograph. Always so nice to get a Woodpecker at the feeders.

I get a male and a female almost daily - do you get both as well?
