Blood red soft egg

Hi Good People
Can anyone help with this question. I'm looking after a friends hens for a few days. Last night when I checked them I found a softie which was completely blood red - it had a perfect egg inside when I plied it open. The hen looks healthy enough but what is going on and I should I do anything. I have a picture but I don't know how to load it up on here.

You do get oddities so I wouldn't worry.
Maybe a little blood vessel broke (like a nose bleed) and this disrupted the time the egg stayed in the shell gland.

Lets hope she is back to normal by the time your friend is back.

Many thanks for the reassurance- I'll keep an eye on her. I've ever seen a completely red egg before so it was a bit of a shock.
