Titan Door Opener Replacement Strings

Post by KathJ »

Hello everyone, I have a couple of Titan door openers for my girls and on one of them the string has broken twice. Luckily I purchased a spare string at the time but I now need another replacement. I've just gone onto the website where I purchased the doors and you can buy spare strings for £1.00 each. I placed the order and when I got to the checkout I was being charged £8.99 for two £1 strings I couldn't believe it. I emailed the company and apparently they send everything out by parcel so the postage cost is £5.83 plus £1.50 VAT. What a rip off }hairout{ Has anyone else been able to purchase replacement strings from somewhere else??

Hi

I can't help with the replacement titan string but just wondering - why can't you use some other string? Or maybe even fishing wire? Or plastic coated string, something which is a bit sturdier? As long as it's thin enough to wrap around the spool.
