anyone else enjoying the heavy rains?
anyone else enjoying the heavy rains?I'm sure the recent wet weather has dropped more water in a short period than I've ever experienced. The chicken runs have usually endured most rain with just a creeping dampness coming from under the shed, but never so bad that I'm standing in water when in the run - I don't know whether to scoop up the poop or use a jet spray to flush it away. The older run with the cherry tree branches through the roof has always been problematic but the key leaks are usually well diverted (such as into the chimney pot feature) so I'm not happy to find a lot more leaks than I can deal with. Fortunately, both coops and mini runs have been bone dry so the girls get some respite from it all
Re: anyone else enjoying the heavy rains? Our water butts were half full at the weekend, they are now overflowing!
Re: anyone else enjoying the heavy rains?Oh yes, I'm loving it......not !!
Since last Friday it's been 'Ooo, looks like a nice day', then suddenly dark sky and down it comes for half an hour. Likewise, water butts on overflow. I think it's doing the garden good though, except the grass which will need cutting yet again! Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: anyone else enjoying the heavy rains?Nice sunny day here today. Got my washing dry after 2 days of 'shall I hang it out' and as soon as I get to the end of the line more drizzle so back the other way. Good excercise I suppose.

Re: anyone else enjoying the heavy rains? My girls play how many can get under the plastic round table or pack into the coop in the main run . Their claws are clean (for a while ) soon as it stops back to the digging . Worms I believe come to the surface when wet ? Hence great activety after the rain stops . Fortunately the girls and boys have a choice of get wet (which they do ) and get under cover.

While we had sunshine there were flash floods in Chester just 9 miles away. Made up for it just now - pelted down. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html
