Lambs Wool and Slugs

Post by Richard »

I picked this up on Countryfile Diaries yesterday....

If you're walking past a field with Lambs in and there's the usual hair stuck on the fences where the sheep have rubbed themselves, take some home and wrap it around the base of your vegetables prone to Slugs.

Apparently, Slugs hate the stuff !!

Saw the tale end of that item. We have sheep in the field adjacent to us. The copper bands are expensive, as far as I know. And the number of slugs in the garden, can't remember if it was 2,000 or 20,000! They have started to eat one of our hostas.

I only ever get to see my hostas in hot dry weather as they are always slug food - I never use slug pellets in my garden (the allotment is a different matter) because there are lots of wildlife such as frogs and different types of birds
