CHICKENS AND ROUND UP

Hi, my drive has got a bit over run with weeds which the chickens do not seem to be intrested in removing, they have the odd peck at them now and again, my nosy (pain in the #rse) neighbour keeps telling me to use round up as it will not harm the chickens, i said there was no way as i would worry it would cause them harm and also would make the eggs unsafe to eat. Not that i would but is round up safe to use around chickens?

I hate using any herbicides, so I personally wouldn't, and with it being a possible carcinogen I'd rather avoid it altogether. Could you try something like vinegar first (apparently mixing apple cider vinegar with epsom salt is quite effective)?
