When you shop for a family there are all sorts of things around that you wouldn't buy / make for yourself but might, just ocasionally, fancy if they are around.

So now it's just me (and the cat) I don't buy bananas or teacakes, hardly ever make custard (packets of powdered milk well past their BB date), and flapjack. So I have bags of oats to use up too, and porridge was another 'make enough for two, then', though I do sometimes have it for supper - not often.

So what foods wouldn't you buy regularly?

Mm, can't think what I don't buy regularly, as we stick to a fairly rigid shopping list each week.

I don't buy shop cakes, prefer to make my own, for OH, not me. I occasionally buy avocados, Lu...ck butter, cream cheese, bread buns and deli ham - if we are having visitors. Not bought mushrooms for a while, tomatoes are in our greenhouse at present, and we have finished the last cucumber, so will not be buying another.
