GG so sorry {hug&kiss} but trust me we have all been there, whether it be hens or other pets, me my beloved cat. And I am afriad we will probably all be there again {hug}

Thanks guys. It's the first time I've ever done that with an animal, so it was a bit weird. All I could think is that I could never cope with it if it ever happens to one of the cats. I can't imagine anything worse in the world.

My biggest problem now is that Featherduster is all alone, but there's a rare breeds sale in 2 week's time at my local mart and I've managed to get the day off! It's an auction, and I have no idea how it works. At the very least I should be able to get the details of more local breeders than I've been able to find online or in the papers.
