Indian food

Post by fabindia »

Real Indian food bears no resemblance to what you get in an Indian restaurant in UK. The food here in Gujarat is amazing and so varied. It is mostly vegetarian, so much so, if you are a meat eater then you have to specifically look for what they term non-veg restaurants.

Wendy and I are vegetarians so it does us fine. We have an excellent book store just 10 minutes walk for our apartment and we have bought a load of authentic Indian cook books. The only trouble with proper Indian cooking is that it is very labour intensive. Lots of ingredients to prepare, spices to fry and things grind up. The end results are sumptuous though.

You are right.

I love Indian food and have a number of neighbours who keep me supplied.
Delicious.
I do get the odd take away, but as you say nothing like home cooked.

If you can't be a good example........
you will just have to be a horrible warning
