Monkeys!

Post by fabindia »

Yes, monkeys are garden wildlife out here. We live in the city but they are about. I see troops of monkeys about twice a week on my morning run.

Really !

I thought we were exotic with parakeets lol.
Have they escaped from somewhere ? It must be hard going for them in this weather

No, Wendy, we are currently living Baroda (also known as Vadodara), Gujarat, India.

They are a menace. I once had a pair of glasses stolen right of my face up in Shimla! I was sat on a bench the next second my glasses were gone! So quick I didn't feel them go. They'd obviously done this sort of thing before.

I spotted a few monkeys while coming back from the market this afternoon. Photos aren't the greatest - just taken on my phone. They are langur monkeys, who are pretty much at home and fearless in an urban environment. They are so agile they just jump from the trees to the rooftops, over walls, pretty much nowhere is out of bounds as far as they are concerned.
