Dog Walking for Exercise

Post by KathJ »

Since we got our Toby in February both OH and myself have lost weight which has been commented on by colleagues at work. Over the years I've tried various things to try and keep fit and keep on top of my weight and obviously dog walking was the way to go all along )like(

Oh yes.
Now I only have Megan, who is very old, so doesn't walk far or fast.
I miss walking, it has always kept my weight down

Don't you get enough exercise with the dogs you are training, Wendy?

With the classes. I show, they do.

With the welfare ones. I take them in a paddock.
The actual facility is stand alone on the A41, so I do not go off site. That road frightens the life out of me

This made me laugh out loud .

I smoke whilst out with dogs ...
I eat , what ever I can get in my pockets ...
Drink sugar squash ...
Stop at the park cafes for coffee and cake (tradition is ain it. )
Drive to the park/countryside ...

Never felt so healthy ....

A41. That road comes within a few miles of me too. Through Waverton, Christleton and Chester.

I can't count my dog walking as exercise. Bailey the poodle knows only one pace, slow, slow, and slow. He co cks his leg up at every lamp post even though he is empty. Sniffs along every hedgerow. Stops to look at what is going on around him, he is nosy. Tries to climb a tree when he wants to poo at the base of it, standing on three legs while he does it. I give him an hours walk but we don't go very far. As long as I take him back with an empty tank, that's the main purpose of the walk. He is happy on the homeward stretch, he does speed up a bit when he knows he is going home. +f+

{rofwl} Sounds like Megan, only she doesn't cockerel her leg
She has one pace, coming or going.
If we manage 7 houses up the road, either out front or in the field at the back, we are doing well.
