I've added more bags to the ones shown above, now have a total of 17 to sell on Saturday, that should be enough. It's up to me to talk, erm bully people into buying one. :-D I got two pink bags out of an old window blind, out of a skip of course. The rest of the fabric came from Hull Scrapstore.

Only sold eight bags, even though I tried my hardest. Lots of people said they already have one, which is probably true, because I have been selling them at our village events for four years. Will have to think of new ideas.

Well if they didn't want to be sold one why weren't they using the one they had to do their Christmas Fair shopping?
What next I wonder - sure you'll think of something.

I personally have six shopping bags which I use all the time. You can't have too many bags. I think they were just looking for excuses. By the way, there were more stalls than normal this time, they changed the layout and used a second room. I think people come with a set amount to spend, so if there are a lot of stalls, we all have to accept less sales. The cat rescue stall was down by half from last year.

A good event though for the community to get together., nice atmosphere.

Our Chat and Craft stall. Items made by the members, not all mine.

I've just finished this wall hanging, it's taken a while. Made with zips from the Scrapstore, I've had them for a few years, thought I'd better do something with them. I took them apart, some I painted, then stitched them together. The dark green background and backing is part of a curtain I bought for £1 from a charity shop, with the rest of it I made shopping bags. In the middle I've used a cot sheet which I picked out of a skip.

Having a go at painting, I have some second hand canvases bought from a charity shop for 50p. The paint I used on this one came from Hull Scrapstore, cost a few pennies.
I call it Virus. It can be a human body virus, something you see under a microscope, or a computer virus. The bugs I call spiders, but others have pointed out that they could be ticks, or beetles.

The lumps and bumps are from a packet of dried soup mix, split peas, lentils, and barley. I've got three other pictures on the go, not sure where they are going to take me. Too many projects not enough time.

My first impression was spiders, till I counted the legs - but then cartoon characters don't have 5 fingers because it would look wrong.

I finished this a few days ago, something a bit different, I call it, 'Malfunction'. I had some old computer innards, from my first computer which I smashed up when it became obsolete. A 50p canvas from a charity shop, painted black, the computer pieces screwed to it. I had to insert two pieces of board at the back so the screws had something to bite into. The central heart has been attacked and is bleeding profusely spreading to all parts, with alien spiders rampaging through the blood and guts pouring from it. It's a futuristic piece where computer and human merge.

I'm on with the next project now, so many different things I want to try.

Picture finished last week. I found a video on the utooob demonstrating painting with bleeding tissue paper. Had a practice on a small piece of cardboard, looked ok, so I tried the technique on a piece of white cotton. Laid out the basic outline of a flower meadow and orange sun.

You wet it and the colour bleeds from the tissue paper onto the surface and is soaked up into whatever you are using. Could be paper, card, or fabric. The hazy colours would make a nice background for card making.

Then I added lots of stitching, back stitch to outline the flowers and stems, and to detail the sun, and used glitter pens to bring out the colours and add sparkle. I stretched the picture over a board, laced at the back, and mounted it on top of a board before framing. I have photographed it without glass to eliminate reflections, it is now under glass to protect it from dust.

I've got several projects on the go at the moment. This one should be finished in a week or so, if I don't get distracted. I am wrapping rings, curtain rings, any rings, with wool and adding embellishments. I have just picked out some dark blue fabric for the backing, still trying to work out what design I am going to do. Will report back when it's finished.
