Middle finger Sandy - that's not be giving you a virtual insult, that's the finger I injured :-D

Not great to be honest, I've been getting recurring infections in it, going to the doctors 2/3 times a week and last Friday was in A & E all evening! I've just finished my 5th course of antibiotics (!) and really am hoping it's cleared it this time (but why would it?). My knuckle is now seized & I can't bend my finger, and they are worried in case the infection has gone into the bone, so I'm off to the hospital on wednesday

Bit of a pain all round really

Girls are all fine. Poor Little Will gets bullied by all 3 (to be fair to Dory Grey, she doesn't really bully), I try to make sure she gets enough treats etc but she's got new feathers coming through and that's making her super cautious. Bless her, she was trying to dustbath in the greenhouse yesterday and Mango kept pecking her. In the end I had to get a stick and prod Mango and Pokey away from her whenever they started on her.

Me and Marley have developed a new game which she loves. She comes to bed with me and then we play 'chase Dory's feather' all over the bed. She adores this! Dory's feather is a right mess now though. Luckily I have lots of spares as Dory has moulted a lot!

Sorry to hear you have still got problems with your finger Karen. What an awful episode it has been for you. Hopefully the antibiotics will sort it out this time. Glad that everyone else is OK over at yours, apart from the poor little bullied girl. Dust baths seem to be the main time they bully. It has just occurred to me that Rose and Violet have been leaving Ivy alone when they are all out playing in the garden. So, I am hoping after all this time the big girls have got it out of their system. We shall see and when I get chance at the weekend, I'll let them all together in their runs and supervise and see what happens. Good luck with the finger.

Sandy who says I could before?? {rofwl}

Finger is almost healed thank goodness (although not terribly pretty), no more infections but it is very tender still & easily hurt. I've got physio exercises to loosen the tendons now as it has seized at the knuckles, they are quite painful but already it is loosening up so I am forcing myself to do them! I sit and watch telly of an evening squeezing my special putty. So I think baking might be a bit tricky but am going to have a dry run by making a carrot cake this week - no kneading required! I made dumplings to go in my scouse yesterday, 1 handed. Dead proud! :-D

Everything is all fine with my crew including Marley who pesters me to come either outside with her or to bed, where we play with her marvellous new fishy ribbon toy on a stick (£1 from the pound shop, absolute best £ ever spent) which she absolutely adores. She is quite clingy though, follows me around everywhere which is slightly worrying. We did have some good news a fortnight ago - bully cat's owners are moving! I'm hoping once he disappears, Marley mightr get more confidence - she won't go outdoors without an escort because of him.

The girls are fine and loving the warm weather. Mango seems to have integrated herself into the flock nicely (apart from when there are treats then it's every chick for themselves) but Little Will is still on the outs, bless her. I think she is too timid for her own good. Dory Grey the benevolent dictator was slightly less benevolent before when she turfed Mango out of her dustbath by her comb. Little beggar, when she gets a cob on she really does get stroppy. Dory had to have The Stick (I keep a bambo cane to hand in the greenhouse so I can chase away any naughty behaviour - no hitting of course, just poking) - they all Fear The Stick! It's like The Broom (which we use to chase them out of the kitchen)

Mango and Willow have been sitting on hubby's knees or even shoulders and arms when he is having his ciggy on the back step, which makes me mad because they don't sit on my knee! )gr:

The girls are benefitting from my allotment tidying up - 2 bolted cabbages so far, and more to come!

Lovely to see everyone again, hope everyone got home okay

The girls of course - as expected - were on their best behaviour and only got naughty when Bob brought out the bread rolls and my husband brought out the prawn cocktail crisps. Manners went out of the window.

Sandy even somehow (!!) managed to get a Dory Grey cuddle. I think Pokey made it onto everyone's knees, especially when the bread & crisps were out. Even Marley showed her face!

Thanks to Kitty and Sandy for the lovely presents. The sweetcorn was scrapped over but I made sure it was evenly shared. They are still hopefully pecking at the remains even today. And thanks to Bob for being his usual generous self - next time I'm paying for your meal - and for the mealworms.

I can't think where you could have got such appalingly bad habits from Sandy, it's not as if my lot were mugging you for prawn cocktail crisps at all. Waggy finger indeed! {warn}

The girls and Marley are all doing great, they've been loving all the sunny weather we've been getting (well not today, it's tipping it down here) and over the bank holiday I spent ages doing the garden which they helped a lot were a right nuisance with. I've replanted all our borders and so far everything seems to be uneaten and undugup. A miracle!

Little Will spends most of her time camped out in the gooseberry bushes, bouncing up & down to get the fruit - honestly, they have had almost the lot and she is the worst! She's still very wary of the others and gets bullied a fair bit, but I think it's because they know she's easily scared.

They had their first barbecue a few weeks ago (Mango & Wills first anyway) - as you can imagine they loved it and Little Will is remarkably good at nabbing the food and getting away with it! Dory loves the cucumber out of the pimms (!!) - she is a proper english lady - and we discovered they like beetroot! So they've been getting bistro salad when we haven't finished it.

A couple of soft eggs from Dory lately, I will have to keep an eye on her. I wonder if it's because she has been stuffing her face with corn - she camps out underneath the bird feeder to hoover up the seeds the little birds drop from the feeder.

I've got lots of photos to get off the camera so I'll post up wheveer I get around to it. I was ill most of last week with a cold and this week I've been away so not much time (or inclination) to do anything with them

Marley has had a bad couple of weeks - George has been around again and I've to rescue her twice from him - last week he had her by the tail at our door (she'd been with me in the garden but had run when she saw him, as had I but of course they are faster than me!) - he took a chunk out of her tail (no sign of an absecc so I hope it's not anything vet worthy) and she's been very quiet and jumpy since but seems to be getting back to her normal self now. Still won't go out without me. But GOOD NEWS - they've sold their house, so fingers crossed he'll be off soon!!! )c( Me and all the neighbours are overjoyed! Our neighbour across the road lost her elderly cat a few weeks ago and wants to get another but daren't while he is around. She's given her big cat platform (2 scratching posts, a platform and a tunnel) to Marley and she's enjoying the scratching posts but hasn't been in the tunnel or on the platform yet.
