Bob I quite like the idea of living in a caravan in a field with my animals. Houses are far too much expense!! It will be very interesting to see where you move to and no doubt I am going to be very jealous if you get yourself and your critters some land to live on. Looks like happy exciting times ahead. Hope your hen picks up soon. These girls are a mystery to me, you can never learn enough about them.

Hi , Unfortunately my little hen Two Tone died this evening .
Not un expected as she was poorly .
Rest of flock well .
I think a caravan / log cabin would be better than my current state .
Interesting times ahead.

Hi all , thank you,
Busy day for the hens yesterday.
Workers at the door / sink all day long . Poor hens thought food , no , food no.
Spoiled them with some mealworms , hand fed .
Leg pecker still following me around pecking . Sometimes it hurts.

Hi a couple of hens standing around .
I checked them over and blow me down they are growing feathers . No BUGS fortunately.
What a time of year to put a winter coat on .
Put it down to when they got hatched .
pretty good at the moment .
Here is a question if the hens loose feathers can you work out how old they are .
I e happy hatching day...…
party time maybe .

High , the flock put away early yesterday afternoon as bad weather looked like it was coming .
Fed this morning and same hens crying for me .
Ground is soaked .
House is a night mare getting people to be at the place at the same time.
Roof tiles and out pipes now .
I believe too many houses being built on grass land stopping the water draining away .My interest is in the fact that my garden is wet.
The Thames not far off and it is a big drainage ditch …..

My garden's just a bog now as well, but I am pleased that I'm not living round the corner from the Thames anymore. We did start to have bad flooding where I used to live down south, in Staines. Luckily we've got decent flood protection here from our little river. Everywhere's soaked though, our grass is just mud and Dennis has taken off half of the girl's roof so their run is just a muddy poo bog as well.

I agree, far too much building on flood plain areas, dredging rivers and moor clearances for shooting also isn't helping. Mind you, with the amount of water we've had over the last 6 months (? it feels like it anyway) I'm not sure where it all could have gone anyway

Looking forward to hearing all about your house and what the plans are - it's all very intriguing!

House plan is sell what I have and go to a place with room for my creatures present and future.
Can not do second till the first is done.
When the first is done then the middle bit WORK may become a lot clearer.
Flock happy paddling scratching the mud pools in the garden.
They were very advanced thinking digging lots of holes so the water would collect .
They seem happy enough and the feathered loss hens are going brown again which should keep them warmer when the cold spell hits next week.

Hi , flock seems extra keen for treats today M r lee actual jumps 2 plus feet from my feet to my hands even when I have not got anything in them .I gave pecker some meal worms by hand today but it did not stop her pecking my fingers , legs and arms.
Little Goldie seems very much quite . looks ok but have an extra watch on her .
Plenty of eggs . Ground still wet in run needs a digging out .
Out in the garden from 11.00am till dusk.
House has just cost me 500 pounds for tiles for bath room . I have played my part by taking the plaster of the walls , and the concrete and probably to much BRICK..... Plaster in weekend so the tiles can be put up . Bath in no sink /toilet/shower till tiles up. Slow work for a while as plaster got to dry . Have the builder now till mid March .
I have 28 weeks from leaving my job on the house till ready for the next big contract . So I am working on selling the house in 28 week window and getting a plan together to get the next place / land for him to get his hands on.
Not a easy one as 3 cats ,one dog 100 fish and the flock to home whilst homeless .
That would be fun a homeless man with a shopping trolley with all that on the corner of a street ……..
