Hardly a day goes by when we don’t see a Buzzard flying around down here, but the emphasis is the flying, up to now I have never been lucky enough to find one perched or settled on the ground.

I was doing my morning tour of the fields and saw the majestic creature flying overhead, then suddenly it landed on the field about 100 meters away.
In true Birder type fashion I started walking toward it in the hope I may catch a photo before it went sailing away.

Buzzard flying

Well, it obviously heard me coming and sure enough took off. I thought that was that and another opportunity missed, but instead of flying awau altogether it perched on the edge of one of the tall Pines in the small wood jut by the House.

Before trying to get closer I thought I’d take a picture all be it a long way away, then edge up to it slowly.
I’m glad I did because before I had even set off, so had the Buzzard!

One day last Summer I was entertained by four of them flying around and hardly a day goes by when I don’t see at least one.
Needless to say the days I 1. saw one being chased by a Sparrowhawk and 2. I saw a Pigeon flying along beside one looking like a Lancaster and Spitfire together, I didn’t have the camera with me!

But I promise I did !!
