"What Chickens mean to me"
by Forum Members..
The impatient "bwak bwak" as I walk down the garden to open the door at first light.
The quiet moments alone with them in their happy "chickeny" world.
The hilarious turmoil as they argue for that one snail or worm.
The sweet soft noises they make when I sit with them.
The size and shape of their powerful wings as they stretch and preen amaze me.
The way they roll and play in the dust and fluff themselves up then close those beady eyes in the warm afternoon sun.
The rainbow of colours in their beautiful feathers and the ruby red of their comb as the sun goes down in the evening.
The way they make the most of every moment, scratching, searching, chattering, listening, watching.
Thank you little girls for the privilege of being your guardian.
Thanks for sharing your simple little lives with me.
Thanks for taking me back to basics in this crazy world.
I know, I got it bad - but I just luv em (and I don't think I'm the only one!) Tortzblue
