I do holiday boarding for chickens and ducks in the summer we had some quail stay they lay so many eggs. I like the eggs boiled and put in chicken soup

Her crop should not be full in the morning as she should have digested her food over night so should be empty. Have you tried turning her up side down to see if liquid comes out her beak she might have sour crop.

I run a holiday boarding for chickens I have found plastic houses the easiest as wooden ones are hard to clean and get dry for a quick turn around also wooden coops are more pron to red mite and they rot.Plastic houses cost more but last for ever and are cleaner I have some my husband made on his cn...

I had a broodie last year that hid in a bush in the main pen she just came trotting out with 8 chicks I just moved her into a netted pen once they hatched because I was worried the crows would take the babies. As long as there is fox proof barrier ie mesh or wall all the way round and the bush is inside this I think they will like it as it will be shelter and shade.

I Have a 10ft by 8ft plastic shed I have it in the middle of a large run I use cat litter trays with lids for nest boxes and drain pipe for perches I didn't cut a little door because it is in the middle of the run I just leave the door open then shut it at night the run is made of heras panels.

I would clean them out before they get back and say we have had so much rain they got very muddy and hope she takes the hint they should be cleaner.

I charge £35 a week for a pen and you can put up to 10 chickens in the pen and if its a stay for less than a week its £6 a night per pen with a minimum charge of £20 per stay.

I put them in the run and just go out when its dark and catch them and put them in the coop after a couple of nights they seem to have worked it out and go into the coop.
