Re: FSFH - Welsh Rehoming April 18th

The farm they are rehoming from on that date is in Wales - so we are keeping it local as possible.

Thank you for your best wishes, Bob {hug}

FSFH - Welsh Rehoming April 18th

Hi folks - not sure if we have any South Wales folks here looking to rehome a few ex-commercial ladies. Fresh Start for Hens have 500 hens available for rehoming on the above date. As usual the minimum donation is £2.50 a hen and we have collection points in Llandovery - Tylorstown, Crickwell, Brist...

Fresh Start for Hens - Recruiting Volunteers

In England we are looking for volunteers willing to host Collection Points in Dorset, Durham, Tyne and Wear and Merseyside. Volunteers need to ensure they have clear vehicular access ...

Re: Ex barn hens poo

I help rehome ex-commercial hens - being part of Fresh Start for Hens - we always recommend owners worm new hens - just because they are barn hens doesn't mean they won't have worms. Sounds like caecal poo by sound of it, but that's just normally every so many times. As has been said could be stress...

Re: What age to neuter?

Little boy doggie, I'd get him neutered now and get it out of the way. Our vets neuter dogs from about six months of age onwards. xx

Re: Questions for Grannyof4, Bluebell, Wendy

Hi Hun - I think it must be very worrying for a pet - to go into a strange place with strange smells and noises and then have a needle and go to sleep and then wake up feeling strange. How can a pet grasp that what has been done is because everyone wants them to be well. I am sure the vet I work wit...

Re: RIP Linda...

Its all very well people saying they want the Oxo ads back for Christmas but I am not sure whether or not this is a good idea - certainly if 'Mr Spain' and her boys agree and give permission. Think they will be going through a really tough time this Christmas. Sincere condolences to her husband, Mic...

Re: Getting worried ~ Manda

I am no expert but from the photos and description sounds like coccidiosis. Here's a question - does your hens poo have a weird smell? Coccidosis is recognisable by a strong odour - it is similar but different to a broody hen's poo, but watery. The description of the keel bone sticking out - that's ...

Re: Dog Boosters

Leptospirosis 2 has been replaced with a leptospirosis 4 vaccine (covers four strains of lepto). Its down to individuals to choose whether or not to vaccinate. I believe vaccination is cheaper than the titre tests some choose. Regarding insurance, if your pet contracts parvo or perhaps some of the G...
