Re: hedgehog....help advice pleaseI have chooks and also rescue hedgehogs. They are utterly harmless to chickens and are very endangered so need all the help they can get nowadays.
Re: Dorking Hen needs good FR home only MidlandsUnfortunately there is nobody. Its really sad. :(. Everyone else has settled in so well but unless she has lots of FR time she just paces the run. There are so many foxes here that I just cant risk leaving her out unsupervised either ;(

I believe she also even befriended a tiny little blind hen Giblet is that correct Kitla? She is so lovely. She looks really happy there :) Love your updates
Dorking Hen needs good FR home only MidlandsHi all I have recently increased my flock and travelled quite a long way to obtain new hens. All have settled in apart from June who paces up and down my fixed run like a caged lion. All the others are quite happy but she is only happy when she is free ranging. She may well settle in a larger fixed ...

Re: sick chicksYes, a vet is definitely the right thing. Chicks can go downhill very quickly and its not worth the risk
Re: Operation Blackout CurtainAs I said on your other thread, Mike, I suspect you do have egg eaters. Often IME there is no evidence, they eat the shells and all and my hens even ate the albumen-y and yolky shavings too so no evidence until I caught them at it.

Re: Egg formed outside of oviduct......If she is acting normally and living a happy life which it sounds like she is; I would see if the vet will give you more meds for a week and see how she goes. It may sort itself out x good luck

Re: Got a cold?Chickens dont get out of breath they get respiratory infections which can and will spread to your whole flock, and kill. Vets asap.
