Re: Bee's in our cavity wall

They are probably gone by now but are completely harmless and will do no damage. It is also a criminal offence to disturb the nest if they are bumblebees.

I have chooks and also rescue hedgehogs. They are utterly harmless to chickens and are very endangered so need all the help they can get nowadays.

Re: Dorking Hen needs good FR home only Midlands

Unfortunately there is nobody. Its really sad. :(. Everyone else has settled in so well but unless she has lots of FR time she just paces the run. There are so many foxes here that I just cant risk leaving her out unsupervised either ;(

Thanks so much Kitla that is a big help. So people know, Ariadne also came from me and I know Kitla is very fond of her and she has fitted in. I believe she also even befriended a tiny little blind hen Giblet is that correct Kitla? She is so lovely. She looks really happy there :) Love your updates

All the others are quite happy but she is only happy when she is free ranging. She may well settle in a larger fixed ...

Re: sick chicks

Yes, a vet is definitely the right thing. Chicks can go downhill very quickly and its not worth the risk

Re: Operation Blackout Curtain

As I said on your other thread, Mike, I suspect you do have egg eaters. Often IME there is no evidence, they eat the shells and all and my hens even ate the albumen-y and yolky shavings too so no evidence until I caught them at it.

Re: Egg formed outside of oviduct......

If she is acting normally and living a happy life which it sounds like she is; I would see if the vet will give you more meds for a week and see how she goes. It may sort itself out x good luck

Re: Got a cold?

Chickens dont get out of breath they get respiratory infections which can and will spread to your whole flock, and kill. Vets asap.
