Re: Fasting

Stef thats impressive. Definitely going to start fasting, the Doctor in the documentary certainly lost some weight. I just hate being hungry. OH doesn't seem to bother much about hunger, but I soon get light headed. I like the idea of being able to eat what you want on non fast days. Guilt free eati...

Re: Baby soft skin on the cheap

I have 15 bottles of the stuff. I use it as handwash, it smells nice and doesn't dry my hands out. I also use it to clean the bath and sinks! Have you tried the baby shampoo? I have zero frizz since using it. The baby lotion makes a good makeup remover, no irritation . I can't use any expensive crea...

Re: Fasting

Interesting. So it should be 400 cals for women on fast days? I'm going to do 5/2 and I'll start once the kids go back to school - dieting always seems easier when I'm on my own.

Re: Fasting

I'm seriously thinking of doing this after seeing the documentary. (It's on Youtube btw in case anyone missed it). The last stone is taking some budging. I also really like the idea of living a long and healthy life (who doesn't?). I have only consumed 800 calories today and feel fine for it, whenev...

Curtains!

Found a great buy in B @ M. Really needed some thicker curtains for my kitchen/patio doors for the winter and stumbled across these reduced to £19.99. They are 90"x90" fully lined and a nice thick cotton fabric. I love them. I have been looking in charity shops and ebay but have struggled ...

Re: A new food foraged (now with Piccies)

SS - that is just what we have an abundance of on our banking. They look just like that! I picked a load last year but my OH made me throw them away because he was so worried I was going to die. (I think I must be quite useful). I can't bear edible food going to waste and I can see them from my kitc...

Re: Is anyone eating any home grown yet?

First courgette ever yesterday! First time I've grown them and I seem to be getting a glut . I have a plot of land ontop of a slopey garden which I have cleared for veggies. I think this has been a good decision because all the rain water has drained away down, so everything seems to be bearing up. ...

Re: Savvy shopping

The FR eggs I get from Homebargains are Staveleys FR eggs. With freedom food/rspca monitored logo plus British Lion Quality logo. Box states "Laid by hens that are free to roam during daylight hours". These are 99p. Would this box of eggs be considered ethical?

Re: no more shampoo

I have enjoyed reading this thread, very interesting. I have wanted to try this method as I've heard good things. I have naturally frizzy hair and have recently discovered its the sulphates in the shampoo. I don't hair straighten anymore so have been experimenting with ways to keep the frizz down. C...

Re: Vanity versus frugality.

Well I am a vain person. I'm not ready for giving up hair dye yet and I can't see me ever going make up free. I have however, learnt to do it on the cheap. I have downshifted my products. ie Clinique mascara (£15) to Primark mascara (£1). It took some doing because most of the cheaper products are a...

lancashirelass - I really enjoyed reading your post. I think computers and internet access are an economy saving part of the home. Its not only about being able to shop around and get the best price for things, but I can also make money (ebay, amazon for example). The cost of running a computer pays...

They taste exactly the same as branded. I highly recommend them.
