Re: Caterpillars

Hi, You can make caterpillar killing spray with fresh peppers. Wear gloves and eye protection and finely chop enough habanero peppers to fill 1/2 cup. Crush 6 garlic cloves. Puree the peppers and garlic with 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon liquid soap in the blender. Pour ...

The bulbs should be planted about 10 to 15 cm deep and about 12 to 20 cm apart at the start of autumn. Nerine seeds should be sown on the sur...

Re: Anyone else like skip diving?

It's not exactly skip diving, but I've taken a load of old windows from donors on Freecycle. Some have been used as a velux window and borrowed light in a bathroom. Am planning a porch, a greenhouse and cold frames. old windows can be very good garden sheds. Hope we can see the finalized creation. ...

Re: Herb planter

I am from the UK originally but with work I am spending more and more time in the UK (Wife is American). The plan ...

Re: Herb planter

I found the site while my wife was browsing through bike sheds. So I checked it myself and found these large sheds that can fit in my backyard. I hope I can get one by the weekend.

Re: Herb planter

I think you'll be pushing it for this time of year, not too many things grow well over winter and if they do, the growth can be leggy and weak due to lack of light. Re: Herb planter

thank you for these ideas. I guess you're right that this time is not the best time. Or maybe I can buy a shed like a glass shed maybe I can place it outside. I also have bonsai soI think that will be a great idea. I really want to have a huge farm someday.

Great job for that planter! I am now planning to plant herbs like basil and parsley instead of buying. Any tips on how to grow herbs indoors. Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.
