Re: Lucas

Tabitha too. This morning I was talking to my grandson and saw & removed a vole, then later was on the phone and and looked down at a mole. Wouldn't have thought they were that easy to catch.

The workplace parking levy IS green. Well, it's 'let's pretend to be green'. Just like the bedroom tax was about releasing big houses for people who need them. Neither any good unless there were alternatives in place - home working & public transport, smaller houses. The other pretence was giving co...

Nantwich rehoming

In the local paper . If you’re interested in adopting any of the hens heading to Nantwich on Saturday, July 10, visit the BHWT website or call 01884 860084. Register by July 8th. The article in the paper makes it all sound far too easy - why not have a few hens, they make good pets and give you egg...

Re: How does your garden grow?

The wilderness takes over very quickly. I have my grass strimmed twice a year but the man who does it is booked to the end of July (and hasn't given me a date at all), I have grass and cowparsley over head height. Good for hide & seek, not so good for avoiding nettles. 'Rewilding' - I think that's t...

what's in my wheelbarrow

I left my wheelbarrow upside down on the long grass earlier in the week, when I turned it upright today it was covered with ants scurrying about, some carrying eggs and larvae.

Re: Recently read books, looking for recommendations

I used to read detective stories, but decided that I've had enough of them, either too dark or too repetitive (I enjoyed some of the Railway Detective, the found them samey). Life has enough to depress without reading gloomy books.
