Re: Men who knit?

My dad used to knit, he made a tea cosy that we used all the time when I was a kid, those 2 colour wobbly ones - they are very retro and it would be in fashion again now!

This one was quite easy to make Helen, maybe easier than your cushion? Let me know if you want the pattern :-D

Re: Knitting intarsia HELP!!

How are you getting on with this Helen? I've done quite a bit, and you do need a lot of separate balls of yarn. You can carry it across the back over maybe 6 stitches, catching it in halfway across if you get what I mean. I made this cushion for my nephew, I took the pattern from a chart for a jumpe...

Re: Is there an Election ?

He has just text me to say he lost Never mind, he worked hard and did his best but not everyone gets elected. I wonder why people say the things they do on FB they are supposed to be talking to their 'friends' surely they realise that a lot of their friends won't agree with their views and that woul...

Re: Is there an Election ?

My hubby is standing for our parish council and is at the count right now, I wonder if he will get voted in? Like others I believe friendly forums and Facebook are NOT the place to air political views. I have even had to block updates from my sister as she has got more and more outspoken before, dur...

I thought the same as you with John Sergeant's programme, watched one but didn't bother with any more. Haven't seen this new series with Tim and Prue yet but have recorded it and looking forward to watching it :-D

I thought it was just me! I really couldn't understand why everyone raved about it, it made me cringe! I've seen it in the West End and loved it though.....

Re: Mr Turner - Timothy Spall

Its so disappointing when you've been looking forward to a film / programme that has been hyped up and then its not as good as expected (Wolf Hall, Casual Vacancy fall into that category, not sure Indian Summer isn't going to go the same way....) I have Quartet on DVD that was a Christmas present, I...

Re: microwave veg

Have you tried on a lower setting so the pressure builds up but then goes down again when the microwaves come on and off (I am not certain but I think that is what the lower settings do) If I'm cooking something that has a habit of exploding I tend to use the 50% setting for a little longer and alwa...

Re: Slow Cooker Question

Beef borgignon again and today's )like( did on high about 4 hours and just turned to low, tasting good and onions definitely cooked this time. Had to substitute port for the red wine as I don't have any, not sure Rose wine would work... the port has worked ok
