Re: And that's why I never wanted ex-batts

I agree too - of the ex-batts I've had one died soon after I got them - the others survived and blossomed for on average 12-18months and had a lovely life. But eventually their rotton start somehow seems to catch up with them and they just fade away. The way I look at it is they have something good ...

Re: BAFTA'S

Frock bought, bag bought, shoes bought, new make up, contact lenses, spanx , haircut, new nails - this is an expensive outing for a jeans and t-shirt girl!! It's on Sunday - quite nervous now , dreading walking down the red carpet - I know no-one will be looking at me but still nervous. Note to self...

Re: BAFTA'S

It's the news catagory for North West Tonight - a programme on the Dale Cregan trial. We're up against Ch 4 news, ITN news and Granada so we're not holding our breath, but lovely to be nominated.

Re: Julie's chicken keeping diary

I haven't posted on here for absolutely ages .... I lost Muriel ... I do love the ex bats but they seem to bloom for a short happy while and then just fade away. All the others are going strong and although I dont really need anymore chickens from an egg point of view I bought two more today. One is...

Re: Time for a new run/enclosure how high though?

If you can make it a bit higher you might find will be much easier to clean - changed my life when I got a tall run - it's so much easier to clean. If you cant though 4ft high will be fine for the chickens. )t'

For people in Lancashire

Bought two new chooks today from Pear Tree Poultry near Preston. First time I've been there and just wanted to say it is a lovely place with lots of healthy birds, both hybrids and pure breeds. Can recommend it if anyone is looking for a supplier. It's also next to Barton Grange Garden Centre so ret...

BAFTA'S

I've been invited to the BAFTA'S!!!! Very excited - probably the first and last time I'll ever get to go. It's ever so swanky will have to buy a frock. It's at the Drury Lane Theatre, and the meal is at the Grosvenor hotel (very posh). It's in a months time so will have to go frock shopping soon. I'...

Re: Garden Hens Cheshire

I've bought hens from them in the past (near Pickmere) very nice people and lovely hens. Shame they're closing - I was going to get a couple of more from them this year.

I think the thing with the downs syndrome was simply that at that time it was seen as something to be ashamed of and hidden away, hence the scratching out of her little face.

I love knitting fair isle and find the history of knitting around the world fascinating. I think all the beautiful fine lace patterns are wonderful - one thing I've never had the patience for!

Re: Our new Shetland Sheepdog

She is beautiful - made me feel quite nostalgic for my grandads dog Spotty Maldoon whe looked just the same. Spent a large part of my childhood running round the Cheshire countryside with him :-D
