Re: A....di productsWe have a bottle of Elbow Grease. It is marvellous. When we bought a caravan fridge a couple of years back, the seal needed a lot of work on it to bring it up to standard. The second hand caravan shop recommended it, and it worked so quickly. I don't see it around very often, and am hanging on to th...
Re: keeping chickens need'nt cost the earthOur first eggs cost a massive amount. Hut and run were practically free to set up, but then we got red mite, and changed to a plastic shed, raised the height of the run, and covered half over, followed by a tarp on the other half. OH kept banging on about how much it had all cost (came out of my poc...
Re: Injured hen - HELP!!!Just read the posts about your girl, Mad Chick. It must have been a dreadful shock for you. Glad she seems to be OK, and like Nefertari, hope your bill is not colossal.
Re: A....di productsThanks for the salmon wellington info, Gromit. Will try when we do next shop. Today we bought some Parma ham, it had been recommended, and thought we would treat ourselves. It was so chewy, my slice went on the fire. OH soldiered on! It has gone in the freezer, ready to take back on our next visit. ...
Re: Knitting for charity?Hello Rhubarb. I post my jumpers for street kids in South Africa to the lady who is the director of Pegasus Childrens Trust. She goes out several times a year, to hold workshops for the kids. So it is just parcel rate to the UK.
Re: Knitting for charity?I knit jumpers for the Pegasus Childrens Trust. The director lives in the UK, but regularly visits South Africa, taking clothes and articles for the kids. My garments are all jumpers, a lot of them knitted in stripes, so small amounts of wool can be used - but the sewing in of ends! I get a lot of w...
Re: New to the forumWelcome from me too.
Re: Total beginnerHello Milzy. All the best with your hens. Whatever you plan, will no doubt be changed and evolve into something different. I have lost count of the times we have altered our set up. We lost one of our girls the first morning. She squeezed through a small gap in the pea netting which at that time was...
Re: New to the forum Hi allWelcome to the lane, a mine of helpful information and advice. Best wishes with your hens.
Re: A....di productsOur three bird roast tea was disappointing. As I said in a previous mail, lots and lots of stuffing, which was very stodgey. We will get two meals out of half the roast. Other meats have been much better value.
Re: How much do you spend on weekly groceries? This is my third reply to the post. Don't know what is happening to them, but they are getting lost. We spend between £30 and £35 for two of us. No more details, sick of typing the same stuff!
Re: A....di productsWe are having the second half of the three bird roast in approximately fifteen minutes. The smell is quite strong, and I hope it won't turn my stomach. There seems to be more stuffing than bird. It is maybe just me, not being a huge meat eater. I used to eat coal when I was a toddler, Mrs B! Nowaday...
Re: New Walk in RunWhat an attractive run, I love the shape of it. The setting is lovely too. Lucky girls.
Re: Am absolutely gutted :-(So sorry to read your news. Losing two together must be horrendous. It doesn't seem a good time for chicken mums at present.
Re: Where my girls live part 1 & 2It looks such an interesting and varied set up.
