For sale...

I have an Omlet Eglu Go for sale. It doesn't have the run as I already had a large run when I bought it. I also have a wooden shelter, this is not a house but a solid 3 sided and roofed shelter, great to put in a run as extra shelter if hens don't want to go in the house. £50 for both. Not sure if I...

Re: Biodiversity of the tropical reefs

There is so much down there that we don't know about. I sit glued to programmes about the deep. Many years ago I went on holiday to the Cayman Islands and one of the trips was to go down in a submarine (obviously designed for viewing) along a reef. It was amazing.

Re: Problems with massive tablets

Could you not just break the tablets in half. I am lucky and don't have a problem with taking tablets.

Re: The tastiest beef joint for roasting?

First off it needs to be aged. M&S do some fabulous joints of beef to order. I love a BIG piece of rolled sirloin, that roasts pink beautifully. If you don't mind some fat then a rib of beef is to die for and cooks pink. I have tried all sorts of cuts of beef and these 2 are in my opinion the be...

I so agree about the KFC one. I think we are all waiting for the John Lewis one.

I love Stacey and I don't think I have seen such a good pairing for a long time. I was so sorry to see Ranj go last weekend as I don't think he deserved it.

Re: Are you cutting down on animal-based products?

I think on the whole the generation now are wimps when it comes to unusual cuts of meat. I remember as a child (I am now 72) my mother used to cook with everything from the animal. The most wonderful smell from pigs fry cooking. This was all the inside bits, heart, liver, lungs, kidney all cooked wi...

Thank you all. I will miss her, she was such a part of my daily routine. She never had a days illness in her life, which is probably not bad for a posh bird. She laid the most amazing eggs.

A sad, sad day

The end of an era. My last chicken, Bertha, passed away very quickly this morning. She is a crested Legbar and about 9 yrs old. She had happily lived on her own for the past 2 yrs and even laid a few eggs earlier this year. She was fine when I let her into the run and had obviously eaten but just we...

So agree Karen. Rahul allegedly "cheated" last week and was allegedly seen still decorating his cake after time was up.!!
