Welcome to this wonderful site, and all the best to you. I am a first time hen keeper, a steep, but fascinating learning curve.

Re: Amazing

The poor thing, she must have been desperate, rather the egg than something else!

I didn't think to look which end of the egg came out first, Steve, was just so amazed, I picked it up straight away.

She crouched on the floor under the shelf, and with her back towards me, I saw an egg being laid. I was ...

Re: My luck really does suck.

We are fortunate living on the edge of a hamlet. Fields back of our garden, with horses, sheep and cattle. In front until last week, we had Jacob's sheep, and horses. The field the horses were in has been ploughed and harrowed, so unlike we will see them from the front windows for some months. I alw...

How clever of you, the bag is fantastic, so professional looking, and your estimated price is more than reasonable.

Oh, yuk, Lisa, just before my tea!! Glad to read that she is a bit better. Like the others have said, you are so dedicated, and a remarkable young lady, who deserves to succeed.

All the best.

Incinerator

Here is our newly manufactured incinerator. I put a thread on another forum asking what people used, and had some interesting replies. As we were unable to locate a washing machine drum, OH delved into our garage, and dragged out some short lengths of dexion shelving supports. He made a framework, t...

Re: Aldies mealworm

We looked in Al....is this morning, but no mealworms for sale. Another shop local to Yorkshire had Mealworm crumbs at £3.99 for a largish bag, wasn't sure about them, so didn't buy. Anyone else tried them? They looked like crushed mealworms.

Re: Oh no, help please =(

Glad she's going on all right Lisa. I got purple spray when we first got the girls, but haven't needed it yet, and am so glad Al gave the tip about wearing gloves, as I haven't read the instructions.
