Re: My dog bit me My cat 'bites' when trying to get my attention. Not a bite to hurt, just closing his teeth on me. If he thinks I should get out of bed or something. Was it that sort of thing, or did she mean it? She meant it I'm sure as it really hurt and I had the indentation of a tooth in the middle of my forehe...
My dog bit meFor no reason that I can make sense of, Daisy our shih tzu, bit my face this morning and it's really shaken me and I'm trying to see if I can find any reason as to why she did it as I know dogs don't bite for no reason. She is a very docile dog, you can usually do anything to her without any problem...
Re: Poorly henThanks for all your kind posts. Summer is doing okay, OH has taken down the run as it was quite large, probably big enough for half a dozen hens and we thought we'd move it to the other side of the garden which doesn't get all the heat in the Summer months. She has laid an egg this week so I guess t...
Re: Poorly henSadly she didn't make it, we noticed she was going downhill again on Tuesday, in fact she seemed to be even worse than when the vet gave her the meds. We did make an appointment to have her pts but by the time we went to sort that out she was gone. I thought I would never get upset at losing a hen a...
Re: Poorly henThanks Karen, no the vet didn't say which antibiotic it was and it was injected, which is why we hoped it would have started working already. She is back in the run now as it's started to rain and it's nice and dry in there and also warm so on that count she is okay. Will just have to see how she go...
Re: Poorly henWhen we got back from the vets yesterday Chloe actually seemed to buck up for the rest of the day. She was walking around, eating and drinking too. However this morning she is back to how she was so we are obviously upset that whatever is wrong with her hasn't gone away. I don't know if the antibiot...
Re: Poorly henThanks for your replies. We actually took Chloe to the vet this morning as she did manage to stand up yesterday afternoon, which gave us some hope. He wasn't sure what is wrong with her, but was concerned that she seemed to have lost weight, which he thought could be a sign of a chronic condition. H...
Poorly henWe only have 2 hens now, a Welsummer and a Cream Legbar. They are both 7yrs old and the Welsummer is still laying, while the Cream Legbar stopped last year. Chloe, the Cream Legbar, has gradually been slowing down this year, hasn't appeared to be ill, just very slow, like an old lady, but we have be...
Re: Really at heading for 7We only have 2 hens left, a Welsummer and a Cream Legbar, both will be 7 in April/May this year and the Welsummer is still laying really well. Haven't had any eggs this Spring so far from our Cream Legbar, so maybe she has given up. They are such a sweet pair together, they both go into the nest whe...
Re: Anyone for 'own pace' fun-walking?I just checked my Fitbit and I've walked 990 miles in a year. We try to go swimming once a week too but when it's really cold it's hard to motivate ourselves to go. I now have to walk Daisy on my own as OH still can't walk very fast and I use a google app to measure my speed and most of the time it'...
Re: Midsomer mur.ders blanknessI love watching it too, usually end up falling asleep while watching it as it can be quite soporific
Re: My two Ha ha Lyn, It was just Megan and I was with a neighbour and her dog, I expect I have to walk them separate, as Megan just dawdles along and Dave is lets go. I recognised you from your long blonde hair and the fact that I remember where you live too of course We had just been to Costco for the 3rd t...
Re: My twoWe just drove past you with one of your dogs this morning Wendy, guess it must have been Megan going by the look of her on here, not sure if you had Dave with you or not
Re: I am now going to have a moanGlad to hear he's found a home
Re: I am now going to have a moanThat's terrible, Daisy snores too, not a great deal but we knew before we got her that Shih Tzu's often snore. Some nights when I am in bed I can hear her snoring downstairs in the dining room, I find it quite sweet actually
