Re: Earthing up Potatoes with Grass Cuttings.

What a great idea! Mind you, I use potato bags so maybe not so great for those! Will pass this tip on to friends who plant in the ground! Thanks, fab tip!

Re: Baby blanket - yarn advice please

Brilliant, thank you Helen! The yarn that was recommended for the pattern is Red Heart Soft Baby Steps but the 100% acrylic put me off. I suppose it would make it very washable though so maybe I should try it with that - assuming I can actually get to a level where I can try a blanket! Will also hav...

Baby blanket - yarn advice please

Hubby's brother and his partner are expecting their first baby late December. I have bought a wicker hamper style basket and am going to buy things bit by bit to fill it before baby comes. I have decided that I would really like to crochet a blanket, it will line the basket and also be something a l...

Re: Silversmithing

It's just a shame it is so expensive to do - I certainly won't be able to do many courses in a short time. Fingers crossed I get to have another go though! I need a lottery win to be able to set up even a small area at home, so many tools needed - would help if I did the lottery! Spreckly, I bet the...

Silversmithing

A few weeks ago I did an all day silversmithing course. I fancied trying something a bit different and this intrigued me. Luckily there were only 2 of us so we got more or less 1:1 tuition which was much better than if there had been 8 of us! We were shown different techniques and bascially told tha...

Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...

Stayed the same this week...again!! Been naughty today - Hector went to the vets to be 'done' so we had a dog-free day which meant we could go out for lunch. Breakfast was a sausage buttie from a roadside van on the way to vote and lunch was a pizza in an Italian in town. No tea though as I was stil...

Re: Dick Strawbridge programme - Chateau in France

We watched it and absolutely loved it! She certainly had some unusual ideas but what a great job they did of getting as much done as they did and what a sense of achievement they must feel! Fantastic programme!
