I got my second lot of chicks this year, but that is not something I have ever noticed any of mine doing.

If you're thinking there is something wrong I would take it to the vets.

I use mealworms as well. I never give my mealworms anywhere except the run and now if they see the bag of worms they go straight into the run for them

When I bought my hybrid day old chicks last year, one of the breeds were light sussex. They can be s.exed at one day old by the vent but not sure how

Mine don't take any notice of other birds either. One night I somehow managed to shut a bird up in the coop with my chickens. When I let the chickens out the next morning out flew the bird!! They were quite happy with their visitor in the run.

I had one last year that had some how managed to rip her comb it healed quickly but now she has half a comb that flops over. We used the purple spray for the first day then put sudocrem on it for a few days.
