Re: Help....

Mine can make a right din at times, I just let them get on with it, it's no where near as loud as the blokes dog over the back barking. If he complains I'll mention his rowdy dawg I,reckon the neighbours are more concerned about my well being when they over hear the conversations I have my my chooks

Re: HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE RE: DUCKS

Washing up bowl, anything like that. They need to dunk their heads.

I initially had a chooks drinker for mine but they empty it so fast it's unreal. It ends up everywhere :-D

Re: HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE RE: DUCKS

Ducks don't need a specific water drinker, any large receptacle will do, baking tray, sandwich box. Mine have a small pond which gets cleaned when its looking murky. Their baking tray is changed minimum twice daily. They like to sit in it Mine are in a fox proof run, similar size to the chooks, I do...

Re: Turbine

On D-bay they sell them that give 500watt for household use, didn't think that solar would be any good as we never have any sun lol Modern solar panels (photovoltaic for the purists out there) work just as well when it's cloudy, hence the move from calling them 'solar' panels. Even 500w isn't much,...

Re: Copper and Magnets for Arthritis

I've looked into the copper/arthritis debate extensively, being an arthritis sufferer myself. From what I've found, copper has no effect, only a placebo. One study I read suggested that too much copper in your body can be harmful for arthritis sufferers. There's a couple of studies out there that su...

Re: Turbine

200w is its peak power. You'll not get that all the time. 200w isn't a lot of power, by the time the turbine has paid for itself, you'll have replaced it twice. I've a friend who lives full time on a narrow boat. Solar energy is the way to go with a bank of batteries to store surplus energy. Even th...

Re: greenhouse

I built one last november for the coming season, 2x2 framing with 3/4 x3x4 battons to hold the glass in, looked really impressive. I've just replaced all the glass with mesh as er indoors wanted it as a duck run, complete waste of my time and energy, every pane of glass held in by 8 separate battons...
