I'm making fish pie for dh & the children this evening ... I can't eat fish though, and the smell makes me feel ill, so I'll probably have scrambled egg or something before I start cooking.

We have 3 out of 5 ex-bats left. They were rescued in June 2010, so I guess they're about three now? None of them are really laying now ... I think we're getting about one egg a fortnight at the moment lol ... I'm itching to get some more.

If the shells are thin / soft then you can try limestone flour in their feed, and upping the protein might help too .

My parents' English Setter is a rescue dog, he hates being on his own at night, even now (eight years on) ... they keep a radio on low in the room where he sleeps, they left it on 24/7 when they first started it, and gradually reduced the time they had it on during the day, now it's only on overnigh...

We're having brisket this evening too ... mine has been in the slow cooker all day, we'll have mashed potatoes with it & probably cabbage & yorkshire puddings too.
