Re: How sad

Very sad, I cant imagine how she was allowed to destroy herself like that. Her parents should of stepped in with firmer support at a younger age One of the things she has blamed is not getting over her father's death, but eating as a comfort. She was five years old at the time, so I suspect that it...

Re: How sad

It's hard to believe she was on the 'at risk' register when she was 10 due to being overweight, so social services were well aware of her condition, yet seemed to have no real answer to her problem.

Re: be warned

For the last few years we do our big shop (once a month) using a list my mrs makes up and she very rarely deviates from it. Unless an offer is stupid cheap she will not be tempted. As we say an offer isnt cheap if we didnt need it in the first place. That's how we shop too; necessity forces it that...

is this normal?

While cutting down more nettles today, a couple brushed lightly against my bare arm. Even though they barely touched they definitely stung! The usual red spots arose, but they didnt itch - they hurt. nd now, several hours later, the spots have gone, but the area is tingling and prickly, to the exten...

Re: Oh Wise Peeps - Can this be true?

There's no oils or fats in beer. If I'm correct (Without looking it up) there are less calories in a beer than a snack bar. The good news is I don't have to give it up then. I don't usually drink more than a pint or two anyway. A pint or two how often? There is a vast difference in a pint or two a ...

Re: beautiful flying creatures

Thanks Paddy. I've been to look at some pictures of the brimstone and it could be, but mine seemed more slender, not as wide at the base of the 'triangle'. Maybe it was a juvenile?

beautiful flying creatures

It has been a tad warm outside, but all the better for bringing out the butterflies. I have seen several orange tips and a couple of peacocks. Then, when coming inside for a drink of water, I saw a gorgeous daytime moth, but I cant identify it (not familiar with moths and dont have a moth book). It ...

"Since light beer is not derived from an animal, its cholesterol content is low." I wasn't aware that any beer was derived from an animal. Treat with a pinch of salt or a light beer I was under the impression that hydrogenated vegetable fats counted cholesterol as well. Yes, that is very ...
