Re: Where's Tabatha?

And that was what happened. I got stuck on the phone, noticed her exploring the front drive, went to see if she'd come back in and her saucer was empty. But when I opened the front door to go to the freezer she was just passing. Came in looking surprised and I shut all the doors. If it's warm tomorr...

Re: Where's Tabatha? Part 2

Well, that went to plan didn't it! No it didn't. She's been here 5 weeks and spending a lot of time looking out of the window. And always appears whenever i go into the kitchen to make breakfast and dinner (and hopefully at other times I go into the kitchen). She has dry food down all the time but g...

Re: Line of Duty!

I did start to watch it but the loud background music got on my nerves so turned to something else. That really annoys me too. Wouldn't be beyond them to put background music on a different channel, like stereo, so that you could turn it down or off. No good if your hearing isn't perfect, just dist...

Re: How does your garden grow?

I used to get frustrated at blackbirds when i grew strawberries. Having to cut the net to untangle them. I get lots of them in winter + fieldfares & other thrushes, eating my windfalls. There has been an interesting discussion about robins on a Facebook bird Identification group. Apparently continen...

Re: How does your garden grow?

Being outside especially when the sun is shining does lift the mood. And the company of my robin, where-ever I am in the garden he (she?) comes with me. Yesterday just one, alternately searching the ground I'd forked and singing on a nearby twig. There were 2 together the other day (wonder if the ot...

Re: How does your garden grow?

Loads of daffs in bloom and a couple of clumps of primroses. + a pink shrubs 7 a witch hazel. The Crocus & hazel catkins are over. I've plodding slowly on with the veg patch - didn't weed it last year so the clumps of grass are well established. As a slightly less energetic task I'm dealing slowly w...

Re: LL's Gardening Diary

Yes, Spring has taken me by surprise too. Get out and enjoy it, the hard work but the Standing and Staring too. Does your home-working let you choose your own time or must you be at your desk for most of the daylight hours?

Re: How does your garden grow?

Like LL I couldn't resist veg growing. Just put some seed potatoes to chit, and started digging over the patch - still very claggy so not east to weed. Things were drying out a bit, but we had 2 days rain last week and the bottom of the garden is a bog again. Contractors from Scottish Power came to ...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

The full implications of having the vaxx will not emerge until six months, a year, or two years down the line. I ilona That is true about most things we do. And for many things we never know because life is not an experiment where you control all variables except the one you are testing. I also fee...

Re: How many of you have had your Covid jab?

I listened to someone on radio yesterday saying that one vaccine (Oxford???) was more likely to give side effects on the first dose, less on the booster, but the other way round for the other.
