Outing Myself Tomorrow

For the first time, I am going to publicly use my walker tomorrow. I have been doing my best to manage without it for months, but it's getting too hard. I'm going to a basketball game for my grandson, and it's just too long a walk from the parking lot. I thought about not going, but I do want to sup...

Alberta June, I'm so sorry about your scare. But so relieved that you seem to be okay. You MUST take care of yourself! We all care, you know. All the best.

Re: Irish Author

{rofwl} {rofwl} LOL Mrs. B! That's the exact reason I can't stand to read Nora Robert's books. They are all basically the same. The man man-handles her and doesn't treat her with respect, but she is so sexually attracted to him that they always end up together. So predictable!

Re: A Little Self-Reliance Prep

Thanks for the interest. No we aren't expecting big storms or anything. I was just thinking that I had no way to stay warm. Power outtages do happen here now and then, but so far have only been during decently warm weather so I hadn't until now thought about taking care of myself under somewhat extr...

Re: Irish Author

I have just begun "The Lilac Bus" and, yes, it's easy, enjoyable reading. Hey thanks Maggie for the list. I'll keep that for when I'm searching for more books. It's sad that she passed away but she was a very prolific writer, thank goodness. She left behind quite a legacy.

A Little Self-Reliance Prep

It dawned on me the other day that, if there were a power cut here in my area, I would have no way of keeping warm or of cooking. True, I have lots of candles and a couple of oil lanterns, but that's it. Since I live alone, maybe I should do something about this. I don't want to spend a lot of money...

Again I am overwhelmed with your creativity, Manda. But you know, just showing all of us what you do makes our own creative juices start to rise. You're good for the rest of us. We may not meet the quality you can constantly crank out, but you give us great ideas. I really enjoy seeing your creations.

Re: No-Spend Decorating

As for th cost for paint here in the US, I usually buy mine from Walmart because it isn't as expensive as regular paint stores. For satin or flat wall paint it usually costs about $16 - $20 per gallon. I really didn't save all that much money, but even more importantly, I was able to use up somethin...
