I read that chickens recognised each other by sight.. spraying them with dilute vinegar suggests they recognise each other by smell or is there another reason? (mind you, if it works who cares?) Thanks Mo.. I'll just keep adding to the photo album as they grow older.. I added some more this morning..

Aging Chickens

How do you tell the age of a young chook? Mine were supposedly the same age when we bough them at 13 weeks - although there was quite a size difference between them.. Now Harriet and Gertrude have developed their wattles and the combs are at last getting larger and seem to be red more than any other...

Has anyone got any ideas on how to break up clay soil? We made two raised beds this year for veggies and had to buy in topsoil because the soil in our garden is pure grey clay.. not a pebble or bit of grit in it...
