Re: blithering shellsl!!!Use old eggs & cool them quickly once they're boiled, then put them in the fridge overnight before trying to get the shells off. Usually, if you start at one of the ends, you find the air pocket & then the membrane comes off cleanly and easily.
Rabbit adviceMy boys have decided that they would each like a rabbit. We've agreed, on the proviso that they need to research it & learn about their needs. So, they have their pile of library books, and I have my forum full of helpful, lovely animal lovers I had a quick look at hutches today while I was in P...
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time... Well done Lucy!!
Re: Stress incontinence - 9 month old puppy.Thank you - that does help - I've just searched 'submissive urination' and that does sound as though it fits. I think we might move his bed nearer the back door, so that he can go straight out when we come in, as that will eliminate some of the fussing and attention that he inevitably gets when we a...
Stress incontinence - 9 month old puppy.Comet is coming up for 9 months. He still has a small leakage of urine every time he gets excited. We're dealing with it by taking him outside before letting him meet any visitors, and rushing him outside as soon as we get home, not stopping to fuss him. Asking around though, it seems that other pup...
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...I think I have the opposite problem. I know that I'm a good 3 stone overweight, but I don't feel it. When I look in the mirror I don't see a skinnie-minnie, but I don't see someone that's 3 stone overweight either ... until I see a photograph Our brains work in peculiar ways, that's for sure. I know...
Re: Greedy and grumpy puppyWe were advised to hand-feed Comet - start him with an empty bowl, and to then add food a little at a time by hand while he was eating. I think the theory is to do with stopping him from 'guarding' which is what Stella is doing with her 'treasure'. Comet mostly will give up whatever he has without a...
Re: Make a Sunflower House for the children/grandchildrenWe have a sunflower house in the making here - although the weather and the slugs are conspiring against us at the moment We're growing Morning Glories up our sunflowers, which will hopefully look beautiful (if any survive the slug attack!)
Re: Positive about sorting my weight this time...yay! well done Wendy!
Re: Blocking crochetMine came from T£sco last year, so I presume it's exactly the same one. I've had no colour transfer problems at all (luckily - I'd never heard of the issue until I clicked your link!) - despite blocking a white, lacy baby shawl on it. I just block straight on to the mats. Hulu Crafts is where I boug...
Re: Blocking crochetI don't have a proper blocking board. I use a foam playmat like this to pin out my knitting /crochet, and find that it works fine. I just use a ruler to measure if needed, but the foam has a sort of grid on it that helps me line things up.
Re: Is this lemon balm?Yes, dead nettle then. Thank you
Re: Is this lemon balm? The stem has a definite lemony smell when crushed, but the leaves not so much. It's quite nettle-y in appearance, and the leaves smell nettle-like as well.
Is this lemon balm? This is sprouting out all around the edges of the compost heap that was here when we moved in. Leaves and stem are hairy, definite lemony smell when crushed. Does anyone know whether it is lemon balm? http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3708/9017973328_5e4e1706d0.jpg Lemon balm? by LittleBrownFrog , on Fl...
Re: Aggers and TuffersYou have too many [img] bits - are you clicking the img button on here as well as pasting the code from Flickr? The flickr code should have everything included already.
