Slow worm in my Garden

Post by saint-spoon »

I hadn't seen a slow worm for year but recently one turned up in my garden. I have seen it a few times most recently in the compost bin. will try and get a photo.

I have never seen one in our gardens that we have had, but now have a large compost pile, so will look out for them, thanks.
I did put some red wiggly worms in the other day which was supposed to be good for helping the compost do its stuff.

Worms are the business for recycling compost.
Apparently when New Zealand was first settled by the West they failed pretty much in every agricultural endeavour until they introduced European earthworm which improved the soil and turned it into what we now see.
