drat. mysupermarket has gone

Post by Mo »

Now I'm shopping for one I don't buy enough groceries to make it worth shopping online, I still used the mysupermarket website to compare prices. And today, when looking to find out prices of supermarket Marmite before buying at my local co-op all I get is a message saying they are shutting down on March 1st.

They were very useful. You could order online from them and they would tell you if another supermarket had what you wanted cheaper, or if a different pack size gave better value. and for an item could show how the price had varied (some supermarkets have it at a low price for a while then a higher one then back to the low).

That is a pity Mo. I've never heard of them before either. I hope you have another supermarket which meets your needs.

I have a local small co-op which I use a lot, but it is very dear for some things - the only cat-food Pat will eat comes in tiny expensive boxes, Tesco sell huge cheap bags so if I'm passing (a slight detour on the way home from dancing) I stock up. Mysupermarket wasn't a shop, it was a way of ordering online from various supermarkets, and comparing prices. When the children were at school I used to run round comparing prices while they were at there swimming lesson, wouldn't have the energy for that now but I do like to stock up when things are cheap.
