Barney

Post by wendy »

On Wednesday 19th February I sadly had to put Barney down.
I had only had him 9 months but he had a neck problem. Starting on the Monday. He got progressivly worse even thougth he had been to be vet Monday and Tuesday,
On Wednesday he started to loose his back legs. He was 12 years old.
I wish I could have had him longer, because he hadn't had the best of lives. He deserved better.

I was going to wait a while for Arthur and I to recover. But an 11 year old female has come into rescue, as her owner died and the relative's were going to put her down.
I had a dog sized hole in my heart and home. So they are bringing her down early next week.
I will let you know how we all get on

I am so sorry to hear about Barney, Wendy. {hug} {hug&kiss}
He did deserve better for his previous life, you are right, but I am positive he appreciated the life, all be it short, that he had with you and loved you for it.
May he RIP at Rainbow Bridge.
What a lucky lady your next dog will be to have you to care and love her. I look forward to piccies when you have time. Take care. {hug} {hug&kiss}

So sorry to see the sad news about Barney. He was not with you for very long but was shown more love in that time than all of his previous life. Sending hugs and look forward to see pics of your new hole filler. Xx {hug}
RIP Barney {hug}

Oh Wendy, so sorry to read about Barney. You were knowledgeable enough to see that he was suffering. I hope your new dog settles well.

So sorry to hear about Barney, Wendy. I'm glad for him that he went while he was loved and cared for, and before his quality of life deteriorated.
It sounds as though your new dog has found you at just the right time too, so I hope you both enjoy your time together.

Hi Gwen
We have her home at last and she settled really well.
But yesterday she didn't eat at all and wasn't very happy. I got her to eat a small tin of tuna.
She didn't want her meal again this morning. But I eventually poached a chicken breast and she ate that and a scrambled egg. Hopefully that will settle her tummy.
I would like to post a photo. But it is, as usual, impossible. and the instructions Richard put up doesn't work }hairout{
I will keep trying

Glad she has arrived safely and her tummy will soon settle.
She as all rescue animals will feel worried, bewildered and wary to start with, but with your tender loving care she will soon come round, bless her.
I know what you mean about piccies, Sarah my youngest followed Richards instructions and did not get anywhere. Not that I am blaming him.
