Blimey! I haven't posted on here for ages...

I managed to lose 18lbs before our holiday in August... put 2lbs back on during our three weeks away (which I didn't think was too bad considering all the beer and baklava's!!). I'm having a bit of a health problem at the moment and so I've hit the crisps, chocolate and cake for solace and put on a further 1.5lbs. I will also shortly be starting on long term medication which is likely help pile on a few more lbs }hairout{

I went back to SW today and am determined to get back on track before I put the lot back on >fi<

Wow - you are all doing so well! Perchy - you look absolutely wonderful and yes, your weight loss certainly shows {hug}

Lucy, you didn't put much while you were on holiday on did you? I have just weighed myself and amazingly have only put on a few pounds, but nothing that won't vanish in a week or two of being back!

Especially as I still can't face drinking since I got back :oops:

I don't know if this has any real relevance or not, but since January I have lost from 149 lbs to 124 lbs by doing only one thing. This is God's truth. My doctor told me to lose 10 pounds "at least" and I have actually lost 25 lbs. All I did was quit drinking sugary Pepsi and changed to decaffeinated diet pepsi. It took six months, but the loss was pretty steady, just a few pounds each month. I have stayed at 124 for about two months now and I'm happy enough with that. By the way I am 5 ft 1 in tall. If everyone asked themselves which food they believe is the worst in their diets, and eliminated it, maybe it would make the process a little easier. I admit that I don't eat a lot, but evidently it's enough to maintain 124 pounds. I don't claim to be any kind of expert, just telling you what worked for me. Wishing you all much luck.

Thats a great loss AL the calories in sugary drinks are very high so well done for swapping )app(
Funnily enough me and my diabetic nurse were talking about just this topic a couple of weeks ago, she also does a wieght loss clinic at our surgery and i was telling her i had joined S World.
Anyhow she was saying that one of her patients had lost a good amount of wieght by cutting out the full sugar drinks and replacing with low cal ones so some good advice from you there AL )t' Lindaxx

Thank you for sharing your success Americanlady! Well done, that's quite a result! )t'
It's amazing what you can achieve by changing just a few things. I don't follow a diet either, just changed the way I am eating.
* eat when I am truly hungry
* eat what I really want, no light or diet foods
* eat the above slowly and consciously to give my body a change to recognise when I
am satisfied
* stop when I am full
Like you, my losses aren't massive, I've lost 9lbs in 5 weeks and I am very happy with it! :-D

Time for my smug post again :-D

1 week back on the wagon and another whole pound down. So that's the enormous 1.5lb gain gone and an extra pound on top in about 10 days.

Happy, happy )t'

Congratulations and good luck to everyone {hug}

I agree, Redd_angel55, I too eat slowly. I'm always the last to finish at meals. I think eating slowly lets you know "in time" that you are full and can push away from the table whether your plate is clean or not. Another advantage I have is that my cats are staring at me, so more often than not, I share with them. Nutty habit, I know.

Anyway, it's good to read about everyone's successes, whatever the means used to burn calories and lose weight. I have fought this fight for forty years and my sympathies go out to every one of you. Good luck!

I am back on the wagon again today with 10 1/2 pounds to loose. Wish I could say it was holiday weight but the truth is, I was eating way too much for a good 4 weeks before I went on my holiday.
I am hoping to loose 2 1/2 pounds for next week >fi<
Good luck everyone
